Microneedles are based on microdevices to expands the scope for therapeutics agents and delivery of vaccines through skin and withdrawing bio-fluids for symptomatics. Microneedles are manufacturing from different materials like stainless steel, metals and polymers. These microneedles are used to deliver bioactive agents systematically and deliver insulin to the skin, with the potential to improve patient compliance and reduce pain associated with traditional needle injections. In terms of biocompatibility, the materials used to make microneedles are typically biodegradable and biocompatible, meaning that they do not cause any significant adverse reactions when introduced into the body. Some of the most commonly used materials for microneedles include silicon, metals, and biodegradable polymers. Research should be focused on genetic, antidiabetic, antiviral, oncological, dermatological, anti-osteoporosis, vaccine, etc., areas for improvement of bioavailability by developing microneedle-based transdermal drug delivery systems. Skins permeability are increased in different approaches of studied. Microneedles are fabricated employing microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). The safety of microneedles has been extensively studied are increasing in recent years. The numerous study are shows that these devices are generally safe and well-tolerated by patients. The two photon polymerization and 3D printing fabrication are promising transformative technologies are develope in recent years. In this articles provide an overview of microneedles systems application, manufacturing methods, types, drug delivery, designs, merits, demerits and application of microneedles.
